Description
In the cemetery on the little hill overlooking Dodge City, the graves in the early days were largely occupied by those who died violent deaths, or as it were, "With the Boots on." From this has come the usage of Boot Hill as the designation for most old cemeteries of the West. The fact that a person was buried on "Boot Hill" in no way reflects on that individual's character. There is an aura of history about their graves that needs retelling.
